Welcome to the Home of the Bulldog P.A.C.K.!

Columbus Tustin Middle School is an AVID National Demonstration School and offers both a comprehensive middle school program and a unique “School-within-a-School” Pre-International Baccalaureate Magnet program. Located on 21.85 acres within the city of Tustin, it was established in 1959 as the first intermediate school in the TUSD. It was named after the founder of the city of Tustin. Columbus Tustin, or CT as it is known by the local community, currently serves over 600 students.

Columbus Tustin prepares students to be confident, creative, compassionate, active learners through:

  • Depth and Complexity
  • International Mindedness, and
  • Service to Others

Columbus Tustin Middle School’s Pre-International Baccalaureate Magnet Program functions as a “school within a school” and offers students a unique, collaborative learning environment.  Students in the magnet program interact as a cohort of diverse learners immersed in an inquiry and project-based approach to learning.  Magnet teachers design learning experiences to stimulate intellectual curiosity, creativity, and risk-taking with the goal of encouraging independent thinking, collaborative learning, and real-world problem-solving. This Magnet program provides an academically challenging environment in which each student’s educational opportunities are maximized.  All Columbus Tustin Magnet teachers are GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) trained, incorporate GATE instructional strategies into their daily lesson design, and focus on year-long GATE themes by grade level as they lead students through a project-based approach to learning.  Classes move at an accelerated pace, preparing students for rigorous International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs in high school.

A tradition of excellence exists, not only because of its achievements but also through its school motto, “Leaders of the P.A.C.K.” As a school-wide expectation, every staff member and student on campus is encouraged to be a leader of the P.A.C.K. by doing the following:

· Have Pride by believing in yourself and always doing your best.

· Show Achievement by being organized and putting forth effort.

· Prove your Character by doing the right thing when no one is looking.

· Demonstrate Knowledge by applying what you learn in all areas of your life.

As a visitor or community member, you are encouraged to learn more about CT, its people, programs, and ideas by navigating through this virtual home of the Bulldog PACK.
